Diamond Halo Necklace and Art-deco Earrings

I was approached by a client who had inherited two incredible diamond Maltese-cross brooches. Both brooches were pretty spectacular with their surfaces encrusted with diamonds and their unusual design, however he had received a lack of enthusiasm from both auctioneer’s and family members who might like to wear them or sell them on. Thinking how much of a shame it would be to sell them or put them back in a safe for many years to come, he approached me to ask if I would design 12x pieces of jewellery using the diamonds for 9x members of his family.

After a few consultations and meetings to get a feel for the style and tastes of the recipients (ranging from 1yrs old to 40yrs), I set about creating 4 design for each person to select from, working out the best distribution of diamonds for each recipient and making sure the designs would work to their tastes and needs.

Using White Gold to create the new pieces so that they would have both quality and longevity, each piece has been hand-crafted with love and attention to detail to ensure that these new pieces could become heirlooms in their own right; honouring the history of the previous brooches, but also creating new stories and new memories.
