Casting Workshop – Sunday 28th Nov
A fun and experimental way of creating beautiful textured jewellery, this one day workshop will introduce you to the process of casting sterling silver using two casting methods. You will spend the day experimenting with both the ancient casting method of Cuttlefish Casting, as well as Delft Clay Casting. The techniques covered are:
You will spend the day learning to carve a two-part mould, melt-down silver, pour it, and remove sprues from your work. You will also be shown how to sand, polish and finish your cast pieces ready for wearing. Finishing the day with 1-2 pieces of beautiful silver jewellery.
Silver is not included but will be available to purchase on the day- or bring along your scrap silver and melt it down. You can expect to spend between £20-£30 on silver.
A 30min lunch break is factored into the course so please bring a packed lunch with you or there is an array of delicious cafes and delis in Alresford. Please bring a mask with you, and your glasses if you need them for close-up work.
Tea/Coffee and pastries will be supplied throughout the day
