Silver and Gold, Sapphire cluster Ring

I love repurposing pieces for people. Being given sentimental pieces that are very so dramatically in style and history, it is always so fun to be given a collection of stones to remove from their old houses and transform into something new and more contemporary. This project was such a joy to do exactly that with, and the finished pieces are some of my favourite I have made and designed so far.

Made from a collection of preloved diamond gold rings, a set of silver tongs, and a gorgeous 18ct gold sapphire and diamond clasped string of pearls, my client approached me asking for me to design her 3 news rings, a pair of earrings and a simple long strand of freshwater pearls.

Removing the stones and melting down the gold into ingots to be forged, I wanted each design to be a statement piece that would stand alone, but to also work together as a collection when worn all together. Using tiny clusters of granulation and hand-forged textures, these three eye-catching rings are made using 18ct gold, 9ct gold and silver/18ct gold with deep royal blue Sapphires and icy white diamonds.
